Do you think you’re an adventurous eater? Are you the type of person who would you eat a snake, or an insect? Would you embrace a bowl of raw ground beef and bite into a snail with excitement? Well we’re about to find out just how adventurous you really are.
Very Good Taste blog came up with a list of foods that they feel every omnivore should eat in their life time, and they labeled it the “Omnivore’s 100“. They challenged us bloggers to copy the list, mark everything we have tried and cross off anything we wouldn’t. Bold means you’ve eaten it, crossed out means you wouldn’t touch it in a million years. How fun! I also took the liberty of linking those terms that might not be as self-explanatory to their Wikipedia definitions (you’re welcome!). So far, I’ve only tried 36 out of the 100 foods. It might have basic foods like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on there, but if you ask me this list is pretty ambitious!

I never thought much about fruit sherbet before. Even though it’s something that functions in the same way that ice cream does, I always forget about it when I’m choosing what to have for dessert. There was never anything truly exciting about it, it was just sort of there. But the Hola Fruta company has changed my perspective. Putting fruit sherbet back on the scene in more ways than one, they’ve helped me discover that fruit sherbet can actually be a pretty delicious and healthy dessert!
That’s my two cents. I tried the strawberry and pina colada flavors and I thoroughly enjoyed them. But we also conducted an in-house taste test at Recipe4Living so go check out what my fellow tasters had to say!

I’ve always loved pizza. It’s just one of those foods that is just plain good. I like to think I’m not alone in this, that everyone has a kind of pizza they like because to me, it’s just that kind of food. It can be made so many different ways. For me, I like how the gooiness of the cheese, the flavor of the sauce, and the irresistible crust meld together to form the perfect and most universal harmony I’ve ever seen in food. But what I didn’t know was just
how much better pizza gets when you make it yourself.

Now that the Olympics are over, it seems we Americans have created an Olympics of our own: trying to eat like Michael Phelps. Undoubtedly, the star of the 2008 Olympic Games (in America’s eyes), Phelps has inspired competitive spirits across the nation to imitate his diet. And with over 10,000 a calories a day, it’s probably not a good idea.
